FEE PROTECTION POLICY
Rationale:
To become a signatory to the International Code of Practice for the pastoral
Care of International Students, Golden Bay High School must have an approved
policy. The funds must be readily available to students if the signatory
to the code is suspended, or if a student is required to transfer to another
institution.
The student fee protection policy is aimed to protect both students and
protect the integrity of the education sector.
Students are also strongly encouraged to have their own personal insurance,
which protects them against loss of tuition and homestay fees.
Procedures:
-
The Golden Bay High School Board of Trustees will set up an Independent
Trust Account.
-
Provision for student fees will be held in and progressively drawn down
for the duration of the course.
-
The funds in the account will be drawn on during the year, diminishing
the account to zero at course completion.
-
The amount of funds deposited in the account will be dependent upon the
number of International students enrolled at the school.
-
A refund of fees to a student will only be made if the student is eligible
according to the procedures and policies outlined in the “Refund
of Fees” policy. |
