HOMESTAY
Golden Bay High School does not have boarding house facilities.
International students who are accepted to the school will have a homestay arranged
for them. The school approves all Homestays, and full support is provided. Payment
of homestay fees is made through the school.
Homestay accommodation provides a fully furnished room, all meals and laundry.
If a student wishes to change his or her homestay family this can be arranged.
Changes in homestay accommodation can only be done with the school's approval.
Each homestay student is expected to comply with the standards of behaviour as
outlined by the homestay family. Each homestay family must abide by the policies
and the procedures outlined in the Code of Practice for international students.
All homestay accommodation is subject to the NZ Police Vetting Service.
Any issue regarding homestay should be discussed with the International Director.
A family may arrange their own homestay, but this homestay must still have school
approval. If this approval is granted the parent(s) of the student must sign
the “Statement of Designated Caregiver Arrangement” document.

but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs.

Medical
and Travel Insurance
International students must have appropriate and
current medical and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand.

for the airport on their way to New Zealand, apply while in transit,
apply while the student is in New Zealand, cover the student for any
trips to other countries during the period of study, cover the student
for any holidays back to their home country during the period of study.
The school, if required, can arrange insurance. The cost is approximately
