Performaning Arts may include opening up specific performance arts careers as a dancer, dramatist or musician, or that of director, playwright, choreographer, producer, community arts worker, drama/music therapist, broadcast presenter, teacher, lecturer, theatre stage manager or arts administrator.
Junior courses include Drama, Dance and Music components. Senior courses offer practical components of composing and performing in the dramatic, musical and dance arts at a variety of NCEA levels. Students will be assessed as individuals for their planning, performance and theory elements. Many internal standards are practical and the external standards are all written assessments. Initially Music standards would be determined by what Te Kura offer, with the classroom teacher providing the students support in their learning towards these.
The school provides most costumes and props, trips and entrance fees to live performances could incur additional costs for students.
