The 30 metre 6 lane open air pool at Te Waka Kura o Mohua | Golden Bay High School Pool in Takaka is the largest heated pool in Golden Bay, Tasman.

In recent years, we have invested significant sums to upgrade the pool for the benefit of its students and the community. In addition to a new heating system, automatic chlorination and testing, and pool repainting, we have upgraded the pool with a new gate, fencing, planting, and soon the installation of a permanent open cover to offer sun and rain protection.

GBHS Swim Buddies is a community-run initiative that keeps the pool open for local families, lane swimmers, swim club and volunteers over summer.  All information regarding Golden Bay Swim buddies can be found here.

Golden Bay Swimming Club uses the pool when it is available outside of school hours.  Swimming season starts 13th October 2026,  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 3.45pm - 6.15pm.
