School Computer NetworkTe Waka Kura o Mohua has a fully integrated, stable, gigabit fibre-optic network. We are connected to the Ministry of Educations fully funded N4L Managed network, via fibre. It is fast and the internet connection performs with more than enough capacity to meet our students changing needs.
We have a BYOD programme in place with 1-1 Devices compulsory for Years 7-13. All students are allowed, with permission, to bring a device so they can connect to the internet. We have N4L filtering along with Linewize Internet Filtering in place to provide the most up-to-date protection possible from unwanted content and malicious threats. The software records all sites visited by students and staff. Google Workspace for Education is used by staff and students for access to gmail, docs, drive and sites anywhere anytime. The operating system used on all desktop computers is Windows 11 and all have Microsoft Office 2016 and Adobe Creative Suite installed. Te Waka Kura o Mohua also has a 3D Printer and a range of digital cameras, digital video cameras, scanners, data projectors and televisions with Chromecast. A Network Manager and an Engineer/Technician are onsite (part-time) to maintain and develop the network. Yvette Ireton (Network Manager) Bluey Powell (Engineer/Technician) |
