Home and School Association

Home and School is a group of enthusiastic parents and caregivers, passionate about finding ways ‘to support academic, cultural and sporting opportunities for our school community.’

Some ways we have been able to do this have been:
  • Provision of funding for school van
  • Hosting ‘The Plan,’ a teen drinking workshop for parents, facilitated by the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board
  • Funding of climbing equipment for the school
  • Funding of audio equipment for the school
  • Funding assistance for the GBHS Adventure Racing Team
  • Financial assistance for school netball and football teams
  • Financial support for school magazine
  • Donation of trophy for Senior Prize Giving
  • Financial support and hosting of Year 7 whanau ‘welcome BBQ’
  • Funding support for Years 7-10 end of year activities
  • Financial support for a student attending ‘Hands on Otago’

If you would like to know what types of applications we may support, please contact us: homeandschool@gbh.school.nz

If you would like to make a funding application to Home and School based on the parameters established by our purpose, please do so by completing the following funding request form.

Become Involved with Home and School
The Home and School committee is always looking for new, like-minded members wishing to make a contribution to our school community.  There are two ways you can do this: join the committee (attend meetings and be involved in decision making) or as a ‘friend of Home and School,’ (no obligation to attend meetings, but helping out when required).

If this is something you think may be of interest to you, we encourage you to come to a committee meeting.  Alternatively, should you wish to discuss what is involved in becoming a committee member or ‘friend of Home and School,’ please feel free to contact any of the committee members below, or email: homeandschool@gbh.school.nz
